Spend thousands on a glossy brochure, make it glitzy with beautiful photographs and still it won’t distract your customer's eye from clumsy mis-spellings in the text. It’s like spotting an egg stain on an otherwise immaculate suit. Having a passion for communication, I instinctively edit everything I read and I have a beady eye for common writing errors: I don't let slip spelling mistakes like 'accomodation' when it should read 'accommodation'; I pick up every 'must of' that should read 'must have'; and I'll ensure you won't mix up similar words that have very different meanings, such as 'affect' and 'effect' and 'principle' and 'principal'. Careful proofreading and editing of copy can be a chore but it’s vital.
